Halo: Silentium Unveiled

The final book in the Forerunner trilogy by Greg Bear has been unveiled in a press release from TOR Books.

Is that a Cryptum I see there!?

The hardcover, audio and e-books will release simultaeously on January 8th 2013.

Tor Books, the largest publisher of science fiction in the world—is thrilled to reveal the title, cover, and release date for the third novel in the New York Times bestselling Halo Forerunner Saga, HALO: SILENTIUM, written by legendary science fiction author Greg Bear.
In Halo: Cryptum, Greg Bear began a three-book arc set in the era of the Forerunners, the ancient and enigmatic creators and builders of the Halos, which continued in Halo: Primordium. Now, in the last years of the Forerunner empire, chaos rules. The Flood—a horrifying shape-changing parasite—has arrived in force, aided by unexpected allies. Internal strife within the ecumene has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.
Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian—a husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict—hold the keys to salvation. Facing the consequences of a mythic tragedy, one of them must now commit the greatest atrocity of all time—to prevent an unmatched evil from dominating the entire universe.
If you haven't read the Forerunner books I highly recommend you check them out prior to Halo 4 as the story of the books will have a big impact on the story in the game.

Halo: Cryptum £5.19
Halo: Primordium £8.84

  1. So this is basically the final moments during the Forerunner-Flood war? I'm guessing the Flood is at an unseen worst here pretty much?

    1. In a nutshell, yeah. The end of the Forerunner-Flood war was extremely perilous for the galaxy. The Flood was at their highest moment of strength (at least in this galaxy) and the Forerunners eventually fell back to their last defensive option, Halo.

But that is a story yet to be told...

    2. I'm also predicting that the destruction of Installation 04 centuries later having a worse effect than taken for granted.

  2. A Halo 4 Comedy Sketch !!!
