Reports of Halo Reach's Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

There was a bit of stink kicking up on the Waypoint Forums last night over an alleged conversation between a concerned Halo fan (Dave) and a member of Microsoft's Xbox Support team (Gary), in which Gary seemed to be under the impression that support for DLC in both Halo 3 and Halo: Reach would be stopped with the launch of Halo 4. I've copied in the conversation below as it was posted on Waypoint:

It's a bizarre conversation, and it appears as though Gary doesn't really know what "343" is - which is a little embarrassing.

As you might expect the the hornet's nest that is Waypoint was in full storm mode shortly after this was posted and repeated threads were removed by mods (an explanation for this hasn't been given yet, although I suspect it might be down to the bile some were spewing).

Everyone's favourite Franchise Development Director was swiftly on hand on NeoGaf to quash the rumours.

Strong words.

Good news about the ongoing support. I know some will question why the support isn't being offered now, but I'm sure it's very difficult for 343i to justify assigning resources to Halo: Reach with Halo 4 so close to completion.

  1. O'connor is a badass.

  2. Do you have any news on the soundtrack? Amazon have it listed with album art, but it only has 15 tracks. The description appears to say it will come with a code to download 6 extra tracks. Bit of a far cry from the "whole disc of remixes" Marty suggested a while back!

    1. There's a remix of one of the tracks here:

    2. Frankie, not Marty!
