18 Days - Are You Ready For Halo 4? The Art Book

Part 1: The Game
Part 2: The Console
Part 3: The Soundtrack
Part 5: The Controller
Part 6: The Thursday War
Part 7: The Map Pass

Part 8: The Headset

Part 4 of our Halo 4 launch preparations takes a look at the Halo 4 art book: "Awakening: The Art of Halo 4".

Halo's alien worlds have always been supported by incredible concept art, and the previous Halo art books have all been superb. While I'm not in a position to review Awakening I can share some of the great Halo 4 artwork that should be making an appearance.

Halo art books always make great coffee table books, when you have guests around, even people who aren't Halo fans (or even videogame fans) will be able to appreciate the incredible artistry on display in these books. There's also the little fact that some of them have become extremely rare and are now worth a small fortune

Awakening: The Art of Halo 4 is available in two flavours, there's the standard edition which is a hardbound, 192 page book available from Amazon UK for £19.49 and from Amazon US for $23 (both offering a saving of 35% on the RRP).

There is also a limited edition version which comes with a slip case, alternate cover and print signed by 343industries concept artist John Liberto. In the UK this is exclusive to ForbiddenPlanet.com and is £50, I can’t seem to find a US stockist, this is possibly because my Google is too localised, if someone could send me the link I’ll update the article.

I reviewed the limited edition of last year’s art book "The Great Journey" and remarked that it was fantastic, hopefully this one will be too. I’ll do a full review when it launches alongside the game on November 6th.

- Cowboy Out.
